Birdman Refuses to Let Lil Wayne Out of His Cash Money Contract. Vows to Fight It Out in Court

Could this finally be the end of the once powerful Cash Money Records as we know it?

As it now stands, the last of the remaining Hot Boys, Lil Wayne has stated his intentions to leave
CASH Money Records loud and clear – following in the footsteps of former CASH Money brethren Mannie Fresh, B.G., Turk, Juvenile (who has since resigned with Cash Money), Busta Rhymes, and Mystikal.

Citing creative differences, Lil Wayne has made up his mind to leave Cash Money Records, the label that he called home since
he was 11 years old.

Wayne has stated that he will only rep his own imprint, Young Money going forward. But Cash Money CEO, Bryan "Birdman" Williams is unfazed by what the Grammy-winning artists wants to do. Birdman has let it be known that he has no intention of letting Wayne out of his contract.

Inside sources are saying that the beef between Weezy and Baby began when Baby started concentrating more of his energy into his new group “Rich Gang,” consisting of Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan.

Wayne became frustrated at Baby’s disinterest in releasing Tha Carter V album on December 9, as initially planned. After Wayne stated his intentions to leave the label there is no forseeable release date for Wayne’s Tha Carter V.

Birdman felt the time wasn’t right to release Tha Carter V. However Birdman has left THE DOOR OPEN for the project to be released at some point stating that Wayne doesn’t understand how much work it takes to build a buzz for the record before it comes out.
