Lil Wayne Suing Birdman For $8 Million Advance Owed For 'I Am Not A Human Being II' Asking Judge To Void His Cash Money Contract

Lawyers for Lil Wayne and Birdman had been in settlement talks in an attempt to avoid an all out war between the rapper and the man once considered to be a father figure. TMZ reports that negotiations have broken down and the battle is now headed to court.

Wayne says he's owed an $8 million advance from his last album, I Am Not A Human Being 2. In addition to the financial debt, the "Lollipop" hit maker believes Cash Money Records has violated the terms of the contract by not releasing Tha Carter V. He and his lawyers will ask a judge to free him from his contract immediately.

Wayne plans to release all of his future recordings outside of Cash Money. A big question that has not been addressed is how this will affect Young Money artists Nicki Minaj, Drake, Tyga and others.

Inspiring! How a Convicted Felon Built a $3 Million Startup Straight Out of Prison

Here goes a very inspiring story found on Nextshark:

Frederick Hutson looked like he had everything going for him. He had a clean record, built some businesses, served in the U.S. Air Force and had been discharged honorably. However, things took a major turn for the worse in 2007, when at a mere 24 years of age, Hutson was caught trafficking marijuana with his friends and sentenced to more than four years in prison.

During his 48-month prison stint, Hutson recognized that there were huge inefficiencies in the prison system when it came to prisoners keeping contact with their loved ones. From there, he came up with Pigeonly, a photo-sharing service that prints photos uploaded from a cell phone, computer or tablet and then ships them to any prison in the world. Pricing is set at an affordable 50 cents per photo and shipping is free.

Having raised $2 million in seed funding from Silicon Valley investors, Pigeonly is set to have $1 million in revenue in only its first year since being accepted into an accelerator, mostly through its sub-brands Fotopigeon and Telepigeon, according to Forbes. So, not only did Hutson incredibly spend four years in prison, he also managed to quickly build a company upon his release, raised millions of dollars in funding for it and now has it on track to being profitable in an age when most startups have no clue how they're even going to make money. Needless to say, there are some valuable lessons to be learned here. After reading his story, I knew I had to track Frederick Hutson down for an interview.

Tell us what it was like being sentenced to four years in prison after having such a clean record.

"I was so naive, because when I went to court I figured it would be a slap on the wrist being that I didn't have a previous record and it wouldn't be a big deal. When I heard the sentence come down, I was shocked even though the sentence was relatively short for what most people in federal prison have. I think the average time for federal is between 5-10, so I was slightly under 5 years. At the time, I couldn't wrap my brain around being in prison for that long. I couldn't fathom what it was like to be somewhere away from your family, away from everyone you know, you go into this environment and you know that you can't leave for a certain period of time. Even today, I don't even know what I'm going to be doing five years from now."

What did you do during prison to stay abreast of all the technological advancements and trends in the business world?

"I read everything I could get my hands on. Anytime I could get my hands on an Inc. magazine or Entrepreneur magazine, Enterprise. Wall Street Journal's technology section was very helpful; it always talked about companies that were doing things, and a lot of times they talked about companies that were further along and not just start-ups. So all those things I started reading about, even though I was in the sidelines it got my brain to think a certain way and allowed me to really see what was possible through technology and what could be done through software. From there, I just started thinking about what problems I could solve. The low hanging fruit was a problem I was personally experiencing during that time. So I thought, 'Well, the problems I'm experiencing right now are all based around communication and things just being efficient.' This is what technology does; it helps make things more efficient. So why not leverage that and build something that can automate processes in an environment where everything is typically manually done?"

What types of people did you meet in prison? Were you able to find a group of entrepreneurial thinkers like yourself?

"Absolutely, that's all that's there! You have two types of guys in prison: You have the guy who is doing his time and he's just waiting for the day for him to come to leave. He probably makes up about 10 percent, maybe a little less than that, between 5-10 percent of the population. The 90-95 percent are all entrepreneurial thinkers. When I say entrepreneurial thinkers, I'm talking about the type of people who see opportunity in a lot of things they look at, whether they direct it in a positive or negative way- most of it was in a negative way, which is why they're in prison in the first place. But they saw an opportunity to have some sort of financial gain and they took it, whether it was right or wrong. So it wasn't just guys on the street corners, there was also guys who were doing things closer to what I was doing, moving tons of drugs from one place to another. Then you have guys from white collar crimes, some of them CEOs and lawyers of Fortune 500 companies. So you had a wide range of people that you came across in federal prison, from the white collar guys who are worth $100 million to the guys in the street corners who didn't graduate high school. Most of the conversations I had with the guys were their business ideas, whether it was a barbershop, or a technology company, or some sort of a platform for fitness. It's a gamut of ideas all over the map from guys who are thinking of another way to 'hustle' once they're released that won't wind them back in prison. I think the big disconnect is there's really no mechanism to transform the idea into something tangible. I think that's where most people fall by the wayside and end up going back to the same things that they did before that got them in prison. I was lucky enough to figure out things like what an accelerator was, learning how important your network is, and refining my raw ideas into something that can be turned into a viable business model."

Birdman Refuses to Let Lil Wayne Out of His Cash Money Contract. Vows to Fight It Out in Court

Could this finally be the end of the once powerful Cash Money Records as we know it?

As it now stands, the last of the remaining Hot Boys, Lil Wayne has stated his intentions to leave
CASH Money Records loud and clear – following in the footsteps of former CASH Money brethren Mannie Fresh, B.G., Turk, Juvenile (who has since resigned with Cash Money), Busta Rhymes, and Mystikal.

Citing creative differences, Lil Wayne has made up his mind to leave Cash Money Records, the label that he called home since
he was 11 years old.

Wayne has stated that he will only rep his own imprint, Young Money going forward. But Cash Money CEO, Bryan "Birdman" Williams is unfazed by what the Grammy-winning artists wants to do. Birdman has let it be known that he has no intention of letting Wayne out of his contract.

Inside sources are saying that the beef between Weezy and Baby began when Baby started concentrating more of his energy into his new group “Rich Gang,” consisting of Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan.

Wayne became frustrated at Baby’s disinterest in releasing Tha Carter V album on December 9, as initially planned. After Wayne stated his intentions to leave the label there is no forseeable release date for Wayne’s Tha Carter V.

Birdman felt the time wasn’t right to release Tha Carter V. However Birdman has left THE DOOR OPEN for the project to be released at some point stating that Wayne doesn’t understand how much work it takes to build a buzz for the record before it comes out.

Jay-Z Demos From Before "Reasonable Doubt" Released (Listen)

A collection of ten Jay-Z demos include songs like "What's In A Name" and "Greatest MC."

Nearly 20 years after the release of his debut album, Mass Appeal has shared a collection of pre-Reasonable Doubt demos from a young Jay-Z.

Of the ten songs included in the release, Sauce Money features on half, including on songs with titles like "Broken English & Drug Sellin" and "Behind The Ropes." The previously unreleased tracks show off Jay's youthful flow and are jumping by the first track, "The Greatest MC." The Five Percenter references and the street slang require their own glossary, and speak specifically to how much smarter his rhymes were than the package he used to deliver them.

Noticeably, Jay's one-time mentor Jaz-O doesn't appear anywhere on the demos which leads some to believe that there could be more out there.

Love & Hip Hop Atlanta's Stevie J Indicted For $1 Million Back Child Support Debt, Facing 2 Years In Jail. In Rehab After Failing 10 Cocaine & Weed Tests

Stevie J is facing two years in prison after a grand jury indicted him for his enormous back child support debt.

Last June, the Love & Hip Hop Atlanta star was arrested in Georgia on a criminal complaint that said he owed $1,107,412 in back child support. He was subsequently hauled back to New York to face the music.

Stevie racked up the debt by not paying the mother of his two children any of the $8,5000 a month in child support since 2001.

The Grammy Award-winning producer was able to post bail. As a condition of his release he was ordered by the court to submit to drug tests. He stayed clean for seven weeks before running into trouble.

Various news outlets are reporting that Stevie is currently in rehab. He violated his probation by testing positive for cocaine and weed ten times.

Stevie J will arraigned on February 10.

Eminem Grants Terminally Ill Teen's Wish By Paying Him A Visit *UPDATE* Fan Dies 1 Day After Meeting

When the family and friends of 17-year-old Eminem fan Gage Garmo, who has been diagnosed with Osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, were told by doctors that he only had a week to live they went to work three days ago hoping to get him a visit from the rapper.

They started a social media campaign with the hashtag #GetGageGarmoToMeetEminem. The "My Name Is" hit maker heard about the family's efforts and on Sunday, January 11, he paid a visit to Gage's Michigan home.

TMZ reports that Eminem and Gage spent an hour together talking and hanging out.

Eminem was adamant that the visit be kept quiet from the media, but word got out anyway. Nevertheless, meeting Slim made Gage very happy and raised his spirits.

**UPDATE** January 13

We're very sorry to report that Gage passed away Monday, January 12, one day after Eminem's visit. The New York Daily News reports that Gage was diagnosed with bone cancer three years ago, when he was a freshman at Rochester High School.

The rapper, entrepreneur 50 Cent took over the New York Daily News offices as guest editor today. Among his new job responsibilities he answered readers' questions in an exclusive LIVE web chat.

Check out some questions 50 Cent answered below...

What type of album will SKI be? "I try to balance the highlights from the past two records." -@50cent nydn.us/50 #NYDNChat

What is 's favorite U.S. city to perform in? "New York. It's just that the energy is different."

What is 's current relationship with ? "Me and Chelsea are good friends..."

. on when his next album comes out: "I'm going to release a date shortly."

When is Power Season 2 coming on? : "We're two episodes out of completing the second season."

If you were not a rapper what could you imagine yourself doing with your life?

-I'd like to do marketing. If I wasn't a part of the music scene, I'd still like to be a part of marketing.

A lot of influential hip hop artists have come from Queens (Tribe Called Quest, Nas, Run DMC, LL Cool J, Beatnuts, and Onyx to name a few) so I have a two part question for you. Who were some of your big influences from Queens that you looked up to and which ones would you like to callob with?

-Run DMC, Jam Master Jay was my mentor. Nas is a big influence. The whole Juice Crew.

50 Cent!! You are my favorite rapper! What type of album will SKI be?

-I try to balance the highlights from the past two records. To try to create a different style and the storytelling.

You've worked opposite some pretty big movie stars- guys like Pacino, De Niro, and Bruce Willis- so who's been the coolest?

Deniro. Him and Forest Whitaker was a lot of fun to do in "Freelancers." That movie was fun because all of our scenes were together. A majority of it.

50... will you ever do a song with Eminem ever again?

Yeah, we got a new song together on my new album. So you'll get a chance to hear that shortly.

What is your favorite city to perform at in America?

-New York. It's just that the energy is different. When you're not together in New York, it can be the worst place for you. But when your presentation is right, this is the place where you want to stretch your stuff.

Where does your relationship with Chelsea Handler currently stand? If you could describe her in one word, what would it be?

-Me and Chelsea are good friends. In one word- Gator. I call her Gator. It's sexual, like wrestling an alligator.

What's your definition of power?

-The definition is influence. To control power, to want them to do things. I've used the title of Power several times because it means the same in every language.

Where were you when you first heard yourself on the radio?

-I was in a car when the song "Glow" came on. I was with JMJ Records.

Whats good 50? I truly admire you and I consider you as one of my role models. Your rise from the bottom to the top of America is maaad incredible. Anyway, my question is how did you overcome your fears? and what are some principles, values, you follow or hold onto in your life?

-I'd found something to be passionate about. When you find something that you honestly want to be a part of, you can do it enough to become god at it.

When I worked in Japan about a decade ago, you were quite popular, even among some middle-aged school girls! Have any interesting stories about fans you've met or you've heard from internationally?

-Interesting story: I've come into hotel rooms in places where there have been people in the rooms before. Like when security leaves the room, people will come out of the closet ready to party in just shoes. It's just crazy.

Do you have any celebrity crushes? How would you describe your perfect woman?

-Celebrity crushes change. You'll have a moment when you go 'wow, she looks hot.' When you see them onscreen, it's different. Then you see them in person and it's different. When you see a woman just walking around and she's hot, she's really hot. When you see a celebrity at a party dressed up, you know there's a whole process that goes into looking like that.

When is your album coming out?

-I'm going to release a date shortly but it's definitely coming out. I pushed it back to release the G-Unit EP's: The Beauty and The Beast. It's just now the focus on completing the record for me.

When is Power Season 2 coming back on?

-We're two episodes out of completing the second season. Today they wanted me to do table reads. But why we're not doing those is because we're here, to be the editor.

Hey 50, who is winning the Superbowl?

-I don't know. Let's just say the Seahawks.

What's the most difficult aspect of being an entrepreneur?

-The toughest thing is being a good judge of character with the people you're dealing with. You pick the smartest guys at the top of Fortune 500 companies and ask them where they took their biggest losses, and they'll say their biggest losses would be marriage. Because it's an investment in not being a good judge of character.

Check out tomorrow's edition of Daily News paper.

2Pac Biopic Movie Is Set To Begin Production

After delays and setbacks, sources have confirmed that the long-awaited Tupac Shakur biopic is finally set to begin production. In a recent interview with one of the film's producers, Randall Emmett, new information about the production revealed the process will begin moving forward this coming June.

"That project is being put together for a June start date," said Emmett. "The script is great. We're ready to make the movie. We're just prepping the logistics and characters."

Afeni Shakur, Tupac's mother, has also cleared up all legal disputes, giving production on the film the green light to all studio rights for the use of Tupac's music in the film. Since we all know that a biopic/feature film without original music doesn't do the artist any justice; case in point, Aaliyah. Needless to say, it looks like one of the greatest rappers ever will finally get a film worthy of his legacy, and redeem the latest ill-fated Broadway musical endeavor.
